Renewable Power

April 20, 2017

There is a lot of preparation that goes into treks as long as the John Muir Trail and many challenges to overcome before taking one step on that solemn ground. The major key is energy; the energy needed to put one foot in front of the other, the energy to remain vigilant of the surrounding landscape and the path forward, and the energy to power our useful tools such as headlamps, handheld GPS, and in the case of this project camera equipment.

One of the first companies to support our efforts is a brand I fully back. With innovative approaches to the idea of where to collect and store energy when out in the wild places Goal Zero has lead the way with some compact solar power and battery solutions. When I first considered this project the thing that kept lingering was how I could power my cameras to capture all the important moments and stories. Goal Zero was my solution from the get go and I was excited to have them as part of this project.
